Helpful Photo Contest Tips

  • Photos focused on Proven Winners &/or Proven Selections plant(s) preferred
  • Unique Landscape installations - especially if featured at well known locations and/or events.
  • Multiple photos will help show the total installation.
  • Good use of colors, textures, heights
  • A story behind the photos is always a plus:
    • How did you select the plants used - deciding factors.
    • Feedback / testimonial from your customer.
    • Sun/Shade details regarding location of the installation
    • Pros & Cons of how it turned out...what you do differently next time
  • Mature landscapes, full of color at peak are always better than just planted and/or beyond prime photos.
  • Quality photos - good exposure (not too light-not too dark)
  • Watch depth of field and surrounding areas in the photo (Avoid cars, people, streets, or other distracting objects from appearing in the background or within the photo).
  • Something clever and fresh....we love seeing the work from landscapers who think outside the box...let your imagination lead you.
